The short version: WriteReady's PDF tools run entirely inside your web browser. The files you open are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to, stored on, or seen by us. We simply have no copy of your documents.

This Privacy Policy explains how WriteReady ("WriteReady", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the website at writeready.app and the free PDF tools available on it (the "Service"). WriteReady is operated by One Last Job, based in Victoria, Australia. We have designed the Service to be as privacy-friendly as possible.

1. Your files stay on your device

All eight WriteReady tools — Merge PDF, Compress PDF, Fill & Sign PDF, Image to PDF, Manage PDF Pages, Edit PDF, Mark Up PDF, and Protect PDF — process your documents locally in your browser using JavaScript. When you open a PDF or image, it is read and processed on your own device. Your files are not transmitted to our servers, are not stored anywhere by us, and are never accessible to us or any third party through the Service. When you close or refresh the page, that working copy is gone.

2. Information we collect

Because file processing happens on your device, we collect very little. What we do collect is limited to:

Contact form details. If you use our contact form, the name, email address, and message you provide are sent to us through our form provider (Formspree) so that we can respond to you.
Anonymous usage analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, provides aggregated, anonymized traffic statistics (such as page views and general location by country) to help us keep the Service running and understand overall usage. This does not identify you personally.
Cookies. We use minimal functional cookies needed for the site to work, and our advertising partner may set cookies as described below.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information above to provide and improve the Service, to respond to your enquiries, to monitor performance and security, and to support the Service with advertising if advertising is enabled. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. Advertising

WriteReady may display advertisements through Google AdSense after advertising is enabled. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and opt out of personalised advertising, at Google Ads & Privacy and Google Ad Settings. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on the Service.

5. Cookies

We use only essential functional cookies for site operation, and, if advertising is enabled, the advertising cookies described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and manage ad personalisation through the Google links above. Blocking cookies may affect how ads are shown but will not affect the PDF tools, which work regardless.

6. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers, each with its own privacy policy:

Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and anonymous analytics.
Formspree — delivery of contact-form messages.
Google AdSense — advertising.

Your use of the Service may be subject to these providers' terms and privacy policies.

7. Data security

Because your documents are processed on your device and never transmitted to us, they are not exposed to us or to interception in transit through the Service. Information you submit through the contact form is transmitted securely to our form provider. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we handle.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain processing. Because we hold so little, this usually relates only to contact-form messages. To make a request, please reach us through our Contact page.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
